The 29-year-old former Orlando Pirates striker recently became a free agent after departing DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns in January.

Motupa made just 22 appearances for the Brazilians, scoring three goals while providing three assists.

The former Bidvest Wits attacker played just seven times last season as he struggled to force his way into Rulani Mokwena’s starting line-up.

“With Gift, we can’t sign him this season,” Hunt told the Citizen.

“We won’t be able to take him. I’ve spoken to him and he just came to train with us.

“You know he never had much football action so he’s just trying to get fit with us and we’ll see by May-June which is only two to three months away.”
