New gaffers do battle as Ntseki and Cijimpi face off!

Roughly two months into their new positions as head coaches of two of the county’s most loved football clubs, Molefi Ntseki and his Spanish counterpart are feeling the pressure of sitting at the helm.

Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu have few things in common – including having some of the most demanding fan bases in Mzansi.

Ntseki possesses an impressive CV having coached the national team for almost two years where he also came close to qualifying for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. But he would have taken the Chiefs job feeling that he has to prove himself at PSL level all over again and in arguably the biggest club in the division.

Three games in and the 54-year-old is making pleas with Khosi fans to give him time to establish himself at the club.

Will he get his side off the mark with a win here?

Predicted Line-ups

Chiefs will be delighted to have Ashley Du Preez back after missing the last match due to ill health. The talisman has scored two goals in the three matches he played this season.

AmaKhosi supporters have been calling for Itumeleng Khune to be reinstated in goals, but I doubt Ntseki will take the risk.

Gonzalez banged in eight goals in 16 Bolivian División Profesional games for his former side. If everything goes according to plan, the Colombian striker will make his debut for the struggling Amakhosi on Saturday when they host AmaZulu FC!

FNB Stadium

FNB Stadium, more commonly known as Soccer City, was built between 1986 and 1989. The stadium could at that time hold about 80,000 spectators.

The stadium received a major upgrade in 2009 in preparation for the 2010 World Cup. As a result, capacity increased to about 95,000, however this was temporarily reduced again during the World Cup to about 85,000 seats.

FNB Stadium had earlier hosted the final of the 1996 Africa Cup of Nations, and hosted the final of the same tournament again in 2013.

The stadium is intended to have the shape of an African pot (calabash).
