Sekgota faces former teammates as Chiefs look to build on first win

Molefi Ntseki’s Kaizer Chiefs have a huge question to answer when they face Stellenbosch on Wednesday afternoon; Can they win here and build from their win against AmaZulu on Saturday?

If not, the club is surely going to feel the wrath of the fans who were originally divided on the appointment of Ntseki as head coach – replacing Arthur Zwane.

But Stellies have been one of the stand-out teams in this new season, playing impressively to win two of their opening four matches in the league.

What’s more; they are still in the MTN8 where they will face another Soweto giant in Orlando Pirates (semi-final), so their confidence levels are as high as they’ve ever been.

I think they gave what it takes to go out there and go toe-to-toe with Chiefs, who are still looking fragile and uncertain with new players still being brought in to try and stabilise the camp and hopefully secure a piece of silverware for the first time in eight years.

When and Where to Watch

Build up to the encounter starts at 19:00 live on SuperSport PSL (channel 202) on Wednesday, with match coverage beginning at 19:15

Predicted Line-ups

All eyes will be on Kaizer Chiefs’ new striker Efmamjjasond Gonzales and whether or not Ntseki will give him a chance to run

Pule Mmodi’s impressive display against AmaZulu means he retains his starting berth

For the Stellies, Jayden Adams most likely keeps his place after netting the only goal in their defeat against SuperSport.

Former Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota could be given a chance to start against his former employers after parting ways with club in early August.
