New faces spotted in training as Chiefs gear up for Matsatsantsa test!

Kaizer Chiefs have been quite busy in the transfer window, but reports suggest that they are still searching for a centre back to complete their defensive unit. Cousin of club legend Bernard Parker, Donay Jansen, was spotted training with Amakhosi last week.

He is seen as potentially a good centre-back option as the club looks to create some depth in that department.

At 23, his age is also a significant factor as he is an experienced player who will further develop his game over the coming years.

Meanwhile, his former club, SuperSport United will bank on Gavin Hunt’s understanding of Amakhosi as he coached them from September 2020 till May 2021.

He will be eager to use this fixture to bounce back from a disappointing two weeks where they were thrashed by Golden Arrows before being frustrated to a 1-1 draw by Gaborone United in Botswana last weekend.

Peter Mokaba Stadium

The Peter Mokaba Stadium is a football and rugby union stadium in Polokwane (formerly Pietersburg), South Africa, that was used for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. It has a capacity of 45,500 but for the purposes of the 2010 FIFA World Cup the seating capacity was reduced to 41,733.[2] It is named after Peter Mokaba, a former leader of the ANC Youth League. It is located 3 kilometers from the city center and is located just east of the older Peter Mokaba Stadium.

The stadium is one of five new stadiums that were built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Initial plans to upgrade the existing Old Peter Mokaba Stadium were abandoned in favour of the R1,245,000,000 (ZAR) new Peter Mokaba stadium.

The stadium was used intensely for training and matches. Therefore, the natural grass has been reinforced with artificial fibers, which anchors the field into a stable and a level grass surface of Desso GrassMaster.
