The team has been proactive in strengthening their squad for the upcoming 2023/24 season, having recently secured the signature of Venezuelan midfielder Edson Castillo.

Efmamjjasond González, who hails from the Atlético Nacional academy in Colombia, didn’t manage to break into the first team there and was subsequently loaned to San Lorenzo in Argentina. He has since found success in Bolivia, particularly with Real Santa Cruz, where he has scored eight goals in just 11 games.

González’s impressive performances have garnered attention from teams in North Africa’s Botola Pro league, but it seems that he has chosen to join Kaizer Chiefs. Reports indicate that all parties involved—the player, Kaizer Chiefs, and Real Santa Cruz—have reached an agreement for a season-long loan, with a potential option to make the deal permanent.

Kaizer Chiefs have already made some notable signings this season, including Ranga Chivaviro. With striker Bonfils Caleb Bimenyimana seemingly out of favor for a starting spot in the lineup under coach Molefi Nteskki, the addition of Efmamjjasond González could provide valuable attacking options and bolster the team’s squad depth.
