The former Young Africans coach has won back-to-back trebles with the Tanzanian giants and attracted interest from Kazier Chiefs after he guided Yanga to their first ever continental final (CAF Confederations) where they were defeated by Algeria’s USM Alger.

Kaizer Chiefs’ previous season didn’t go according to plan under coach Arthur Zwane as they failed to claim a piece of sliver wear in addition to missing out on a spot in the Caf competitions. According to reports, Amakhosi were keen on bringing in Nabi as their coach, but talks weren’t smooth as the 58-year-old wanted to join the club with his own technical team. However, the Soweto giants were not open to the idea as they wanted Nabi to work closely with Zwane.

Sporting Director of the club, Kaizer Motaung Junior said there no negotiations between Chiefs and Nabi.

“The Nabi’s stuff is very strange to me you know. And I think that also came at a time and is very disrespect because coach Arthur was our head coach,” he said.

“And I think a lot was made in media and things push a wrong direction, I think from a club’s side we always knew the direction we gonna take, I think we have to act with a caution, professionalism and respectful to all the individuals.

“Also we have a team like Young Africans who we just had a great international friendly game, looking to build duplations and I think sometimes the narrative in media is driven in a wrong way but from the club side we are very clear with our direction and we looking forwart to coach Ntseki giving us his best and taking us to the next level,” he concluded.

Amakhosi suffered a 1-0 defeat in their pre-season match against the Tanzanian champions Young Africans and will start their DStv Premiership 2023/24 season against Chippa United at the Moses Mabhida Staduim on the 6 of August 2023
