Chippa United coach Morgan Mammila has issued a strong warning to Kaizer Chiefs as they gear up for the opening match of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.
Returning to Chippa after a successful stint with Swallows FC, Mammila, alongside Musa Nyatama, secured an unexpected spot in the top eight of the DStv Premiership last season.
Speaking at the official league launch, Mammila exuded confidence, asserting that Chiefs would not have an easy time facing his Chilli Boys at Moses Mabhida Stadium next Sunday afternoon.
He stated, “Very easy team to play against, very easy… you know them, we all know them, we know their advantages and disadvantages.”
Mammila emphasized that although Chiefs boast strong players and good signings, his team would not underestimate them. He added, “If they don’t get what they want in the first ten minutes, they get frustrated and that’s what we want to do.”

Chippa have bolstered their squad with the additions of Menzi Ndwandwe, Augustine Mulenga, Craig Martin, Goodman Mosele, and Luvuyo Memela. They are also on the verge of finalizing a deal for Baraka Majogoro, further strengthening their side for the upcoming season.
Confident in their preparations, Mammila expressed his satisfaction with the team’s progress during the pre-season. He said, “To be honest, we had good preparation for the new season. We are much better organized and more experienced than the previous season.”
With the new recruits and a renewed spirit, Chippa are set to kick off the new campaign with determination and ambition, ready to take on the challenge of the PSL’s hottest seat.
