Itumeleng Khune has revealed that Kaizer Chiefs are rallying around under-fire goalkeeper Brandon Petersen.
Petersen hasn’t been in the best vein of form this season and missed the club’s last two DStv Premiership matches.
He made a few high-profile blunders that only increased the pressure placed on him but is working through his mental state to return stronger.
Khune was handed the nod for the past two games against Cape Town Spurs and Orlando Pirates but has backed Petersen to make a comeback sooner rather than later.
He said in the Sunday World: “We [players] know what he is going through, and we are trying to help him.
“Even the club has provided resources for him by bringing in Dr Henning Gericke, who is a psychologist, just to discover what he is going through on and off the field.
“So, they have been having sessions; and you could see that Brandon has changed his way of doing things – he is not himself.”
