Gabadinho Mhango opened the scoring on just 13 minutes before Veluyeke Zulu was dismissed on 54 minutes for Usuthu.

Dolly then levelled the score on 61 minutes as both Mhango and Chiefs’ George Matlou saw red in injury time.

The away team were quickest out of the blocks with Dumisani Zuma’s early shot well saved by Ithumeleng Khune.

Mbongeni Gumede then tried his luck but Khune was again equal to the task.

Edmilson Dove was close for Amakhosi on five minutes but he pulled his shot wide, as Mhango’s ninth-minute effort was too high.

Njabulo Blom and Makhehlene Makhaula were both wasteful with their chances but Mhango made no mistake with his left footed shot from the centre of the box on 13 minutes that arrowed into the bottom right corner of the net.

Dove came close to an equaliser on 17 minutes but couldn’t keep his shot down.

Yusuf Maart was off taret with his set-piece as Ashley Du Preez forced a save from Veli Mothwa as Chiefs looked for a way back into the tie.

Maart and Du Preez were looking the most likely goal scorers for the home team but the first half ended in the away’s sides favour.

Dolly replaced Siyethemba Sithebe at the start of the second period and almost made an immediate impact only for his goal-bound shot to be blocked.

Bonfils Bimenyimana latched onto a good Dolly cross on 48 minutes but was denied, as Sfiso Hlanti fired high, from another good dolly delivery.

Veluyeke Zulu was then shown his matching orders for a second yellow card, but the set-back only served to inspire Chiefs as Dolly netted.

It was the substitute who levelled as he latched onto a pass from Dillan Solomons to fire into the top right-hand corner of the net.

Dove should have handed Chiefs the lead soon after but headed over, and the same player was guilty of at least one more miss as the match drew to a close.

But not before two more red cards, as first Mhango was shown his marching order on 90 minutes, as unused substitute Matlou was cautioned on 99 minutes.
