Kaizer Chiefs have bid farewell to midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi, who spent just one season with the club.

The announcement came on Monday, marking the end of Mahlatsi’s tenure with the Soweto giants.

The 25-yer-old Mahlatsi’s journey with Chiefs began in the 2022/23 season when he inked a three-year deal after transferring from Moroka Swallows. His arrival was part of a package deal alongside Lehlogonolo Matlou and Dillan Solomons, all orchestrated shortly after Arthur Zwane assumed the role of head coach.

While expectations ran high, Mahlatsi, Matlou, and Solomons faced challenges in replicating the stellar performances that had initially made them sought-after talents during their time with the Dube Birds.

Chiefs made the announcement official in a concise statement released on social media, saying, “Kamohelo Mahlatsi has left Kaizer Chiefs after the midfielder’s contract was terminated by mutual consent. He is now a free agent. We wish him all the best.”

This move is part of Kaizer Chiefs’ ongoing restructuring efforts, as they bid farewell to several other players this season, including Phathutshedzo Nange, Thabani Dube, Erick Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana, Khama Billiat, Kgaogelo Sekgota, Cole Alexander, and Caleb Bimenyimana.

As the club looks to rebuild and reshape its roster, the departure of Kamohelo Mahlatsi marks yet another chapter in the evolving story of Chiefs’ pursuit of football excellence.
