According to Soccer Laduma, the 32-year-old Monare will likely be offered a new deal at the club after initially being part of a group of players that were to be released.

The reason behind this U-Turn could have to do with new coach Jose Riveiro wanting to keep Monare, who was a key member of the Pirates squad during their run to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup under co-coaches Fadlu Davids and Mandla Ncikazi.

Monare is expected to join his teammates in training, according to Soccer Laduma, where Spanish coach Riveiro will get an opportunity to cast an eye over his squad in pre-season.

Prior to the Bucs U-Turn, The Sowetan reported a few days ago that Monare turned down a one-year deal with a salary cut which he was not happy with.
