After returning to Pirates following a loan spell at Swallows FC, the 24-year-old Saleng has been in superb form for the Buccaneers, helping the club win the MTN8 trophy for their first silverware of the season.

“According to a KickOff club source, Saleng has been offered a new improved contract by Bucs.

“Players signed from First Division and development academy always sign a certain contract when promoted to the first team. There is a clause that allows them to get improved contracts depending on their performances and behaviour in the first team,” said the KickOff club source.

“Saleng has done well to get an improved contract. He is also now playing for Bafana Bafana which justified why Pirates have offered him an improved contract.”

Pirates will return to league action following the World Cup break when they face Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Friday.
