Kaizer Chiefs

The Glamour Boys find themselves in unfamiliar – 13th position after three matches played in the new season. They have been one of the least impressive sides this campaign, failing to win a league game up to this point, and with one goal scored in that period.

They were dismal in their goalless draw against Chippa United on the opening day and then failed to find the back of the net in a 1-0 defeat at TS Galaxy in their last putting.

Many contributing factors at Naturena point to their goal-scoring and striker crisis, making it hard to guess where their next goal will come from after news of Ranga Chivaviro’s injury broke.

With Ashley Du Preez still recovering from sickness, AmaKhosi will be boosted by the fact that their new man Efmamjjasond González, whose signing was announced by Chiefs last week, had his visa approved and is expected to have linked up with his new teammates earlier this week as he starts his PSL career.

Depending on his fitness and readiness levels, the 24-year-old could be handed a chance to impress at home against Usuthu.

AmaZulu

Much like their opponents, the appointment of a new coach has also not worked out as planned for the Durban-based side.

They too are finding it hard to get off the mark this season and have produced goalless draws in all three of their league encounters played so far. They are one of three clubs not to have conceded a goal in the new campaign, but are also the only team yet to find the back of the net.

Fortunately, they face a team who are also enduring a tough start to this new season and with a new coach. This could make for an interesting encounter as both sides will be aiming to put the first three games behind them and turn their campaigns around before the pressure piles up.

AmaZulu have shown glimpses of how Pablo Franco Martin wants them to play, but just haven’t found the back of the net to impress the fans who are yet show have confidence in the Spaniard.

Verdict: Kaizer Chiefs or DRAW on the Double Chance – 2/9

Aside from their poor start to the season, Love & Peace still come here as slight favourites to win, but they have huge task of creating clear-cut chances for their forwards (which has been a challenge in their last three games).

AmaZulu will surely gain confidence as the game progresses if Chiefs fail to score early, and I wouldn’t rule out another share of the spoils here.

It will also be interesting to see how they line up, with some corners of the fan base calling for Itumeleng Khune to return to the sticks against AmaZulu.
