The Premier Soccer League (PSL) will resume this week. We take a look at some of the biggest transfers ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Mamelodi Sundowns

The reigning champions have boosted their title defence with the arrival of Thapelo Maseko from SuperSport United, Lesiba Nku from Marumo Gallants and Lucas Ribeiro Costa from SK Beveren.

Orlando Pirates

Pirates’ bid to go one better than last season’s runner-up finish will include Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy, Patrick Maswanganyi from SuperSport United, Sphamandla Gumede and Lesedi Kapinga from Mamelodi Sundowns.

Kaizer Chiefs

Chiefs’ ambition to improve on last season’s fifth-place finish will have Mduduzi Mdantsane from Cape Town City, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe from SuperSport United, Ranga Chivaviro from Marumo Gallants and Pule Mmodi from Golden Arrows.

AmaZulu

Former Uthongathi FC players Mondli Mbanjwa and Mfanafuthi Mkhize have joined AmaZulu.

Chippa United

Ever-changing Chippa have recruited Craig Martin from Orlando Pirates and Luvuyo Memela from Richards Bay. They will also have Goodman Mosele on loan from Pirates.

Cape Town Spurs

Promoted to the Premier Soccer League, Cape Town Spurs have spent finances and resources on Keagan Buchanan from AmaZulu, Boitumelo Radiopane from Orlando Pirates – and former Sundowns pair Luvuyo Phewa and Siyanda Msani.

SuperSport United

Third in 2022-23, SuperSport United’s attempt to finish ahead of Sundowns, Pirates and others this season will include recruits from those clubs. Phathutshedzo Nange has joined from Chiefs, Siphesihle Ndlovu has arrived from Pirates and Grant Margeman has exited Sundowns for SuperSport United.

Cape Town City

Ramazani Tshimangaand from JS Group Bazano and Jo Paciencia from Interclube are among Cape Town City’s cosmopolitan new recruits.

Sekhukhune United

Jamie Webber, Renaldo Leaner and Siphesihle Mkhize have joined Sekhukhune United from SuperSport United, Maritzburg United and Mamelodi Sundowns, respectively.

Swallows

Former Sundowns star Andile Jali is arguably Swallows’ highest-profile recruit. They have also gained Keenan Philips from SuperSport United and Dumisani Zuma from AmaZulu.

Richards Bay

Richards Bay managed to stay in the Premier Soccer League. This time, they’ll have Austin Dube from Kaizer Chiefs and ex-Marumo Gallants duo Lucky Mohomi and Letsie Koapeng.
