Chiefs to extend Khune deal

Today (Friday) is the last day of Khune’s current contract with Kaizer Chiefs, but reports have suggested that the club and the play have agreed to extend his deal in principle.

Dubbed ‘Spider-kid’ Khune joined Kaizer Chiefs 19 years ago after graduating from the club’s academy in the 2004/2005 season.

It will certainly be interesting to see if newly-appointed coach Molefi Ntseki will drop the veteran goalkeeper or bring him back into the squad.

Mulenga joins Chppa United

Former Orlando Pirates midfielder Augustine Mulenga is the latest face to pop-up at Chippa United, as the Gqeberha club continues to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.

The Club made the announcement on social media and welcomed the Zambian international who comes with a wealth of experience in the Mzansi top flight.

Mulenga, who also played for AmaZulu in the DStv Premiership, joins the Chilli Boys on a two-year deal.

Chilli Boys lead race to sign Bucs’ Bongani Sam

Orlando Pirates defender Bongani Sam is heading to Chippa United on loan as he looks for regular game time, according to reports.

The 25-year-old spent the past season away from the Buccaneers, spending the first six months at Maritzburg United before joining Swallows FC to help them avoid relegation and finish in the top-eight in the second half of the campaign.

New information surrounding his future indicates that Sam will not return to Pirates and play under coach Jose Riveiro but he could join Chippa in his hometown, Gqeberha.

SuperSport United sign Nange

Gavin Hunt has once again been reunited with towering midfielder Phathutshezdo Nange after SuperSport United confirmed the signing of the player from Kaizer Chiefs on a 2-year deal.

Nange reunites with Matsatsantsa head coach Gavin Hunt after spending a season together at the former PSL outfit Bidvest Wits before joining Chiefs.

Dangerman Lesiba Nku joins Sundowns

Lesiba Nku becomes Mamelodi Sundown’s first signing ahead of the new season the after the club announced his capture from relegated Marumo Gallants.  

The 27-year-old winger was one of Gallants’ beat performers in the previous season, including their surprise run in the CAF Confederation Cup, featuring in all 12 games while scoring three goals and making one assist.

His vast experience in Africa, and in the PSL is expected to add some value in the reigning champions’ already strong squad.

Sphesihle Ndlovu completes permanent move to Matsatantsa

26-year-old Sphesihle Ndlovu spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Supersport United and made over 20 appearances under coach Gavin Hunt.

The quick midfielder made his top-flight debut in 2016 for Maritzburg United and featured 84 times for the Team of Choice before joining Pirates in 2019.

He earned 67 caps for the Sea Robbers including winning the MTN8 trophy, but had his game-time limited and later lost his place in the team when Jose Riveiro arrived at the club, which lead to his loan move to United.
