The 23-year-old Baloni, alongside Katego Otladisa, Patrick Maswanganyi, and Melusi Buthelezi, was officially introduced as one of the four new arrivals at Pirates. Adding to the team’s strength, Karim Kimvuidi and Lesedi Kapinga have also joined. Notably, Baloni stands out as the sole player directly signed from a Motsepe Foundation Championship side.

“For me, playing among big names doesn’t bring pressure; instead, it serves as motivation and a benchmark for improvement,” remarked Baloni during an interview with the club’s media. “I’m eager to learn from my teammates and grow as a player. They encourage me not to be intimidated but to be true to myself, both on and off the pitch.”

Baloni’s confidence and skills with the ball have already impressed his fellow midfielders. He acknowledged their support, saying, “I feel embraced by my new teammates, and I thank the club for entrusting me with this opportunity. I am determined to repay their faith by giving my all on the field.”

As the DStv Premiership kicks off, Pirates will face Stellenbosch FC on Saturday, 5 August. Baloni expressed his eagerness to play in front of the supporters, promising to make a lasting impression. “Though many may not know me now, I pledge to show my appreciation by giving my best every time I step onto the field,” he added.
