Siphesihle Ndlovu says he learnt a lot from his time with Orlando Pirates after sealing a permanent switch to SuperSport United.

The 26-year-old joined the Buccaneers from Maritzburg United in 2019 and after taking time to find his feet, Ndlovu made a significant contribution in his second season with 38 appearances, two goals and one assist.

But he featured just 14 times in the 2021/22 campaign before ultimately being sent out on loan to SuperSport last term, where he played 22 times as the club ended in third place on the DStv Premiership.

Reflecting on his time with Bucs, the player said on IOL: “It was obviously a huge learning curve for me, I’ll always say that was a lesson for me because that is a very big institution.

“Going forward I know exactly what is expected of me if I can get back to another big club or overseas, unlike when you don’t know what is there (before you go there) so it was a good learning curve for me.”

Ndlovu added that his game has certainly thrived under the guidance of Matsatsantsa boss Gavin Hunt.

“He’s just a simple coach, he simplifies things and doesn’t like mistakes so he just gave me an opportunity. He told me to do what I do best, try to minimise mistakes and make sure I keep the grind and fight, Ndlovu explained.
