TS Galaxy’s head coach, Sead Ramovic, boldly declares that the path to a cup final doesn’t always require the weight of an extravagant budget.

His words come on the heels of a thrilling 3-2 victory over AmaZulu FC, securing their spot in the Carling Knockout Cup final against Stellenbosch at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 16 December.

Ramovic, with a squad comprised of players signed as free agents, Bradley Mojela, Higor Vidal, and Samir Nurkovic, showcased that talent by scoring the goals against AmaZulu. Their triumphant journey stands as a testament to the power of teamwork and resilience in football.

“We deserve to be in the final, and I have to give a lot of credit to my players. Unbelievable, great effort to reach the final, great attitude,” Ramovic emphasized in a post-game interview with SuperSport TV. “It’s like I said before the game, you don’t always win with million-rand players; you win with great attitude players.”

Ramovic, not merely focusing on the football pitch, used the platform to address broader global issues. He urged awareness and empathy, taking a moment to highlight the plight of innocent people in Palestine. “It’s not always about soccer. Every day we should wake up and stand for humanity,” he passionately remarked.

In his third season with the Rockets, this marks Ramovic’s first cup final — a significant milestone for both the coach and the team. Their ascent to this pinnacle, achieved without the luxury of a lavish budget, speaks volumes about the ethos of TS Galaxy and their commitment to success against all odds.

Reflecting on the accomplishment, Ramovic expressed pride in his team’s effort. “But great effort again from us. We’re grateful for our supporters, a beautiful thing to see us in the final,” he added, acknowledging the unwavering support that has fuelled their journey.

As TS Galaxy prepare to face Stellenbosch in the grand finale, their story resonates not only with football enthusiasts but with anyone who appreciates the underdog spirit.
