Chippa United broke a four-match winless streak in the DStv Premiership with a 3-0 victory over Richards Bay FC at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Richards Bay remain in 15th and is now just two points above bottom-side Cape Town Spurs. Meanwhile, Chippa moved up to 10th on the DStv Premiership standings.

Chippa got off the perfect start when they took the lead with seven minutes gone via defender Justice Chabalala with a header from Malebogo Modise’s cross.

The hosts were well on top and the visitors’ worries were compounded when goalkeeper Mabokgwane picked up and injury and had to be replaced ten minutes before half-time.

Richards Bay were reduced to ten men in the 55th minute when Banda was shown a straight red card as Chippa wrapped up the victory in the 76th minute when Kayden Francis finished in the box from Elton Kambindu’s through ball.
