Among the athletes that are up for the Sports Personality of the year award are Bok and Sharks rugby scrumhalf Grant Williams, Protea women’s and Dolphin’s bowler, Nonkululeko Mlaba, one of the provinces’ top swimmers Matthew Sates, Diamond League winning Athlete Zakithi Nene and wheelchair basketball player Samkelisiwe Mbatha.

In a social media post, the Dolphins congratulated Mlaba, wishing her all the best and encouraged people to vote for her.

Mlaba has risen to second on the official T20 International bowling rankings and is hoping to claim the number one spot in the near future.

The Sharks also called on people to vote for their scrumhalf Williams.

Williams was described as a typically busy halfback, with a lethal turn of pace. He already has a dozen Super Rugby caps under the belt and he also made his debut in the Springbok team when he made it into the 2023 Rugby World Cup squad.
