Race 1
JUMBO OZAKI has not finished out of the top three spots in all five of his starts to date and followed up his penultimate victory over seven furlongs with a solid performance next time out over the same distance. He looks to be the one that they all have to beat. SIMPLY OPTIMISTIC was slowly away last time out over 1100M, but recovered well to be running on over the closing stages, suggesting that the extra ground will be to his liking. SHOT OF IRISH has his first run for his new trainer, but if fully acclimatized to his new environment, he should be considered on some of his previous form. ARTIC SHOCK is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys and has a wide draw to negotiate, but on the plus side, she will get 2kgs taken off her back courtesy of her claiming apprentice.

Race 2
TWITCHY FRANK was only collared late last time out over this trip and from her handy draw, she should put in another solid performance today. CLARICE CLIFFS finished strongly to be just under a half-length behind the winner in her last outing over this trip. She looks the immediate danger to the former. SHOKORA was making good late progress in her last start over this seven furlong journey and a repeat of that effort would make her a serious player here. HONEY ESPRIT won her last race over this distance and is sure to be right up there in a very competitive contest.

Race 3
PIPPIE is a 4yr old mare taking on males, but she did win her penultimate outing over 1100M in good going and was not too far back last time out over six furlongs. She has a poor draw to overcome, but she could use her early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. SIRIUS SUSPECT just failed last time out over seven furlongs and seems certain to enjoy the drop in distance. ASHLOR is a speedy sort who was narrowly beaten last time out over five furlongs in heavy going. He might do better here on good going. FAATINAH won his penultimate start over this distance and if he is able to reproduce that effort here, he should be respected.

Race 4
DECLARES WAR battled all the way down to the wire when finishing second last time out over 2100M. On that performance, he will certainly enjoy the drop in distance. GRAND CROWN won well last time over 1950M and should have no issued going the slightly extra trip. The gelding will be hoping to complete the double today. MR QUICKIE’S last two efforts have been disappointing, but if bouncing back to his earlier form, he would be a big runner here. SENTIMENTALIST won his last outing over this distance and should be included in all bets.

Race 5
SO SI BON finished fourth in a feature race last time out over ten furlongs and should enjoy the drop in distance. ICONOCLASM found one too good for him last time over this trip and will be looking to go one better today. BENITOITE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she was staying on well last time out over the mile and should give the males a good run for their money. GOLD FIELDS was a little disappointing last time out, but a repeat of his penultimate run over this distance would see him right up there in the dash down to the line.

Race 6
This looks a wide-open affair for 2yr old’s and some caution is advised. The very tentative first choice goes to TARCOOLA DIVA who is a filly taking on the boys and is, in fact, one of the four fillies taken to complete the quartet here. She showed the expected improvement second time out when finishing a close up second over this distance. If she is able to continue along that same path, she should be involved in the finish here, starting from a handy draw. ARCHIPETA BEACH won over 1135M on debut and is drawn one inside the former. She takes a slight step up in distance, but would no doubt have come on with the experience and looks to be a big runner here. MISS INBETWEEN was slightly below par last time out over five furlongs, but had posted two solid efforts over further prior to that and should pose a threat to the top two selections. CHROME ANGEL won over five furlongs in heavy going on debut, despite being friendless in the betting. He is clearly a better horse at the race track than at home and could follow up here.

Race 7
Another tricky race faces punters here. LYRE is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she drops in distance after finishing 1.2L behind the winner last time out over seven furlongs and might do better as a result. EDUARDO returns from a 29 week break. He stayed on well in his last outing and the form of that race has been franked. He does have a wide draw to overcome, but he should use his early gate speed to negate that fact. HUMMA HUMMA is a 4yr old filly who was not too far back last time out over 1100M and should be respected here. CRYSTAL DREAMER’S last run over 1100M was encouraging and he should be a factor in this contest.

Race 8
Although LANKAN STAR finished tenth of fourteen last time out over six furlongs, she was just four lengths behind the winner that day. Her pervious outing was solid and she could cause the upset here. MASKED CRUSADER returns from a 17 week rest and won his maiden race last time out over six furlongs at only the second time of asking. He clearly has some ability and should be considered today. KNOWLES is a 3yr old filly who stayed on gamely last time out over this trip in heavy going. She is not without a chance here. FELICIA is also a 3yr old filly who returns after a lengthy 67 week break and has her first run for her new stable. She is two for two so far and will be hoping to come back fresh to complete her hat-trick here.

Race 9

Two 3yr old fillies could fight out the finish of this the last race on today’s program, with the nod going to AFFAIR TO REMEMBER. She ran on powerfully to win her last outing over the mile and although she has a very wide draw to contend with, she should be picking the frontrunners off in the race down to the wire. MOONLIGHT MAID finished well in her comeback run over this distance after a 19 week rest. From her handy draw, she looks the biggest threat to the former. OCULAR only just failed to reel in the winner in his last outing over seven furlongs when attracting plenty of betting support. On that effort, the extra ground should suit him. TOORADIN followed up his penultimate victory over a mile with a solid performance over the same trip in heavy going next time out. He should be right up there in the run down to the finishing post.
