Race 2
HELMET HEAD has finished third in his last two runs over this c&d, the latest when just under a length behind the winner. He overraced between the 1400M and 1200M mark that day and then not unsurprisingly just could not catch the victor over the closing stages. He attracted plenty of betting support that day and may prove difficult to topple here. SOLSKJAER steps up in trip after going over 1500M in his last two starts, the latest when finishing second, half a length back from the winner, despite racing three wide. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate eight, but could be the biggest danger to the top choice. STAR OF SUCCESS was hampered at the start when disappointing in his latest run over 1500M. A repeat of his two efforts prior to that outing would see him involved in the finish here.
Race 5.
DANGEROUS DAN showed market improvement when he drew well clear of the opposition to put nearly six lengths between himself and the balance of the field to win last time out over ten furlongs. The manner in which he stayed on that day would suggest that the extra distance should be no problem. From his handy draw four, he looks to be the one to side with. ITSA FAIT ACCOMPLI had to be checked at the 600M mark and was then forced wide before finishing eighth last time out over 2100M and that effort is best ignored. The form of that race has however been franked and if repeating his run over ten furlongs three outings back, be could threaten the top pick, from an ever better draw two. TICKETS FOR YOUTH has cracked pole position and has shown steady improvement in his last three runs, finishing second in his latest outing over 1900M, a head behind the winner. He was making good late progress that day and should have no issue going the extra ground.
Race 6.
There are five unraced entrants in his race, so a keen eye should be kept on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether the connections believe that they have a good chance of winning on debut. Of the raced runners, UPRISE may prove to be the best. He has consistent formlines to his name and was bumped at the start before ending up in second place last time out over this c&d, just a length behind the winner. He will have to negotiate a wide draw ten, but he should turn in another honest performance today. LE FIGARO is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action and finished third in her last outing over five furlongs when returning from a lengthy 48 week break. She jumps from gate seven and should be right up there when they hit the line. HOLIDAY IN DUBAI is also a 4yr old filly who has finished third in her last three outings, the last two over this c&d, with the latest 1.2L back from the winner when returning from a 23 week absence. She faces the widest draw of them all at gate eighteen, but is likely to be dropped out the race in the early stages and should be picking off the frontrunner over the closing stages.
Race 7
COCKY ROCKY is seldom too far back from the winner and stayed on well when ending up in fourth place last time out over five furlongs, nearly two lengths behind the winner. He jumps from draw five and should relish going over the extra ground. JULE’S SPIRIT followed up his penultimate run victory over five furlongs with a fifth place finish over six furlongs, 2.9L back from the victor. Starting from gate three, he should be a factor in this line-up. ASHMAN also won his penultimate start, but in his case, over 1500M. He followed that up with a sixth place finish in his next start over seven furlongs. He returns from a 20 week break, but he did win his one and only barrier trial and should be included in all bets.
Race 8
This looks like a tricky F&M handicap to end off the Jackpot and some caution is advised. SUPER SLICK jumped awkwardly but nevertheless recovered well to show plenty of speed to win by two lengths over five furlongs on debut. She was friendless in the betting markets that day, but would have learnt from the experience and could be good enough to complete her double here, despite facing draw nine. LET IT SIZZLE on the other hand has pulled pole position. She won her penultimate start over five furlongs and then finished seventh last time out over six furlongs. She gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and if these have the desired effect, she should give a good account of herself. QUEENOFTHECASTLE was hampered at the 500M mark when finishing fifth in her last outing over this c&d. She has her second run after a 30 week rest and from draw six, she should be right up there in the mix. WICKED WENCH has her first run since a 24 week rest, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials. She overraced in her last start before finishing seventh over seven furlongs. She takes a drop in distance here, but from her handy draw four, she should not be lightly dismissed.
