UK Racing Tips – Monday 11 November 2019

Jockeys ride horses

Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Monday’s racing at Carlisle and Kempton Park.

Carlisle Best Bets

Race 2: WINDSOR AVENUE (1)

Trainer: Brian Ellison
Jockey: Brian Hughes

On the book WINDSOR AVENUE looks up against it taking on the smart Ballymoy, to whom he’s giving 5lb. That is courtesy of his comeback success at Sedgefield where he was hugely impressive in trouncing Knockoura by 21 lengths. His forcing tactics were a joy to watch, and he could be named the winner a long way from home. In contrast Ballymoy was unable to cope with Nube Negra at Warwick, and while there was no disgrace in that, Windsor Avenue could have the legs of the latter up the final hill.

Race 4: MIDNIGHT SHADOW (6)
Trainer: Sue Smith
Jockey: Danny Cook

A Grade 2 scorer over hurdles, MIDNIGHT SHADOW didn’t cut the mustard on his return to action in a beginners’ chase here when easy to back. He almost certainly needed the run, and if coming on for it is sure to give a good account getting weight from everything on the race. My confidence is high, but would have been higher if his stable was in slightly better form.

Kempton Park Best Bets

Race 3: VERSATILITY (2)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson
Jockey: Jerry McGrath

Henderson has a terrific record at this track and VERSATILITY looks his best winning chance on an interesting card. The 5yo opened his account over hurdles in clear cut fashion at Warwick in May. At this free draining course he’ll experience similar going, while the step up to this two miles and five furlongs trip can also be seen as a positive. Equally important is the fine run of form bring experienced by the Seven Barrows horses.

Race 5: ORGANDI’s (7)
Trainer: Richard Phillips
Jockey: Daniel Hiskett

ORGANDI’s switch from the big mares’ race at Wincanton on Saturday can reap dividends and this in form individual can make this a third hurdles triumph from five outings this season. Testament to her well being was her resounding success at Ludlow last month while her subsequent rise in the weights is countered to an extent by her capable rider’s 3lb claim.

Race 6: THE KINGS BABY (4)
Trainer: Harry Whittington
Jockey: Richard Johnson

Having run a cracker on her return over hurdles last month, THE KINGS BABY is going to be right at home over this track and fences. She’s already been a good servant to her connections with two successes earlier in the year and a win here would tee her up nicely for the mares’ Listed novice chase at Warwick in a month’s time. Johnson is a potentially significant jockey booking.
