Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro hailed a “massive” three points as his side overcame TS Galaxy 1-0 in the DStv Premiership on Saturday.
Deon Hotto scored the only goal at the Orlando Stadium on 25 minutes in Saturuday’s DStv Premiership encounter.
The result lifted Bucs onto 22 points from 13 games and Galaxy in 12th with 15 points and kept the club on course for their goal of winning all of their remaining fixtures in 2023, and follows their 2-0 defeat of Swallows.
Pirates are yet to play Golden Arrows, SuperSport United and Stellenbosch ahead of the new year.
Riveiro told SuperSport: “A massive three points for us, two victories in a row here at home.

“It’s always difficult, we have a tactical game in the beginning, we didn’t start well one more time. We concede two, three clear chances to the opponent.”
Riveiro added: “The game could change too early and fortunately for us Melusi and the defenders did a good job in the last actions.
“And little by little we start to get control, scoring a goal in a free kick, a beautiful one. And enough to get the three points, same story and usually in the second half, more spaces to run. The opponent is open, we have chances, we have good chances in transitions as well.”
