Sweswe, 42, articulated, “I don’t think the team is doing too badly. Since coach Cavin Johnson took over, the performances have improved but I still think they need a striker. One that can score goals for a living. They have all the other departments well balanced but the striking department has not been doing very well.”

Expressing his hopes for reinforcements, Sweswe remarked, “So I hoped that in January they would look at that department and bring in a top finisher to ease the pressure on the other strikers in the team. That’s what we really needed in January.”

Despite the missed opportunity, Sweswe remains optimistic about Chiefs’ prospects, asserting their capability to contend for a coveted CAF Champions League berth by season-end.

He stressed the significance of consistency in DStv Premiership performances, emphasizing, “What is needed now is consistency in the remaining games in the league and to make sure we finish in the top two and qualify for Africa. That’s very important for the team to be playing in Africa every season.”

Highlighting the arduous journey ahead, Sweswe concluded, “Every game matters now and the second round is even tougher than the first to me so they have to work hard and win games.”
