Stanley Nwabali insists he has no concerns ahead of his return to DStv Premiership side Chippa United.

The Nigerian goalkeeper played a prominent role in his country’s progression to the Africa Cup of Nations final at the expense of South Africa.

The 27-year-old saved two penalties in the shootout at the end of the tie to book his side a spot in the final.

The Super Eagles ultimately lost 2-1 to hosts Ivory Coast, and Nwabali was warned against a return to the Chilli Boys amid reported threats from some disgruntled Bafana supporters.

Nwabali told KickOff: “I must go back to my club, but talking about the threats, this is football.

“You can’t threaten someone because they also won some other teams too.

“It’s football, I don’t think there’s anything attached to it. Maybe it was just someone writing on social media.

“It’s cool to me because I spoke to my [Chippa United] chairman three days ago, but he didn’t say anything like all that stuff.

“So, he felt like, ‘No, it’s cool, you can come back’. I must go back to my club because they own me.”

Chippa are next in action when they host Cape Town City on Saturday.
