Recent rumours have suggested the property mogul was leading the charge for a takeover of Amakhosi.

Chiefs are owned by Kaizer Motaung, who founded the club back in 1970.

Despite still being regarded as one of the biggest clubs in South Africa, they have not won a trophy in a number of years.

This news comes on the back of a first-round exit in the Nedbank Cup where Amakhosi lost on penalties to lower league opposition Milford FC.

But Nkuna has now addressed the rumours and said on FARPost: “It is regrettable that the current statements circulating on social media referencing to intentions by Dr Mike Nkuna to purchase Kaizer Chief are false.

“He has expressed his reluctance for any administration [role] of the Kaizer Chiefs F.C., thus refuting the assertion to bring in players and new management.

“Noteworthy Dr Nkuna remains a committed board member of Kaizer Chiefs F.C while his primary focus is on property development.”
