Despite having stretched their unbeaten streak in the DStv Premiership of 41 matches under the leadership of Mokwena, the young mentor believes he is always under pressure at Sundowns.

The 37-year-old tactician guided Masandwana to lift the inaugural African Football League (AFL) earlier this season with his side on the verge of clinching yet another league title for a record seventh time.

The Brazilians have also cast their eyes on the CAF Champions League ahead of an upcoming quarter-final clash against Young Africans of Tanzania.

“I’m under a lot of pressure, I have to win every game and that’s the nature of the business you’ve got to win,” said Mokwena.

“If you were to give the current results (Sundowns’) to any of the Soweto giants I think there will be a little bit more of appreciation.”

“But when you are at a big club like Mamelodi Sundowns winning is not enough, you’ve got to win and continue to win.”

“That’s my life, it’s something I have accepted and that was the life of my predecessors and that will be my life for the foreseeable future.”

The coach also stated that he is happy his side won’t have to travel outside of Tshwane for their Ke Yona quarterfinal encounter against the Motsepe Foundation Championship side the University of Pretoria.

“Anyone you play in this round is a good team and I think the most important thing for us was to not travel,” he added.

“And play at home but I think to play at AmaTuks stadium is the better of the situation that you could say is ideal,” he concluded.

Downs next match will be up against Yanga away from home in the first leg of the Caf Champions League on Saturday 30 March.

Kickoff is at 20:00.
