Race 4

LONRIOLI won over 1000M three runs back, finished a disappointing thirteenth in her penultimate start over 1100M and then fifth in her latest outing over 1200M, 1.8L behind the winner, when having her first run for her new trainer and returning from a lengthy 62-week spell. She did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day before finishing off her race well, but the form of that race has stood up well with two runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The filly gets a handy draw four and is taken to be the value bet on the day’s card.

HUMMING has finished third in her last three runs, the latest over 1200M, just a length behind the winner, but she did hang out all the way down the home straight in that event. She has her first run for her new trainer and returns from a 29-week break, but has had four barrier trials, winning the latest. If fully settled into her new surroundings, she should give a good account of herself here, jumping from gate six.

FLYING THINKER goes for her hat-trick after victories over 1300M and the latest over 1200M by 1.8L, this despite jumping awkwardly and bumping another runner. She struck the front at the 150M mark and then held off all the late challengers in the dash down to the wire. From her useful draw three, she could complete the trifecta.

Race 5

The day’s best bet, DANISH PRINCE has finished third in his last three starts, the latest over 1600M, 3.3L back from the winner. He raced up with the pace that day and stayed on well over the closing stages. The form of that race has been franked and he may prove hard to topple, jumping from gate seven.

OSMAN followed up his penultimate run victory over 1300M with a third-place finish next time out over 1400M, just under two and a half lengths back from the winner, but he jumped awkwardly on that occasion, bumping another runner. The gelding has a cosy draw two and will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice.

ALL IN THE MIND jumped awkwardly and had to be steadied off the heels of another runner approaching the home turn when finishing seventh last time over 1500M, 5.7L adrift of the victor, so that effort is best ignored. He is drawn one outside the latter and should be right up there when they hit the line.

Race 6

HOW DARE YOU is a 3-year-old filly taking on the boys, but she won her penultimate start over 1300M and was bumped at the 1300M pole and hung in over the last 500m when finishing seventh next time out over 1400M, just under three and a half lengths off the victor and has had the benefit of a subsequent barrier trial. The form of that last race has been franked and from her handy draw two, she will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today.

TRISKELION was having his first run for his new trainer and never really saw daylight down the home straight when ending up in sixth spot last time out over 1100M, just over two and a half lengths back from the winner, so a line should be drawn through that effort. The colt has pulled draw six and should keep the top pick honest.

NO DRAMA won his last start over 1200M, albeit by just a short-head, when having his first start for his new trainer and returning from a 24 week break. He is drawn one outside the latter and the double is very much on the cards.

Race 7

This looks to be a tricky race to end off the day’s Jackpot with plenty of runners in with a realistic chance of finding the winner’s box, so some caution is suggested. DEMARCAY was returning from a 18-week rest when finishing sixth in his latest outing over 1500M, three and a half lengths behind the winner and has finished fourth in a subsequent barrier trial. He jumps from a useful gate four and would have come on further with that run under his belt.

MONARCHS BRAE is the stable companion of the top choice and had solid form prior to ending up in tenth spot last time out over 2100M, 16.4L adrift of the victor, but he was bumped at the start and was reported to have not acted in the heavy going that day, so that effort is best ignored. The gelding will have to negotiate a wide draw nine, but he nevertheless makes a solid back-up for the powerful Chris Waller yard.

GUZUMPED has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three starts, the latest when third over 1600M, 2.3L behind the winner, but he bumped another runner shortly after the start that day and then came the widest of them all into the home straight, so he had his excuses. The gelding has pulled gate seven and should be included in all bets.
