Stellies beat The Rockets 3-1 this past weekend to advance to the MTN8 semi-finals – an opportunity missed by Ramovic’s side.

The Galaxy mentor suggested that it is futile to bump up the prize money – as MTN8 added R2 million for this season – but turn a blind eye to the subpar infrastructure.

“I congratulate the opponent for a fair tough game and I give my team huge credit. We fought the whole season to have a chance in the MTN8 to win this cup and the prize money [so that we can] build a team,” Ramovic told SuperSport TV.

“And then you come to a game where probably a cow can break its legs. How does the PSL allow a game can be played on a field like this?

“You can increase the prize money to R100 million, you have to fix the fields and not allow a professional team to play on a field like this. It is a disgrace, it is embarrassing, but the PSL decides how we play.

“And then you ask yourself why supporters don’t come and watch. You cannot make an easy pass. We tried long balls into space because you cannot play.

“It is not about losing or winning, I would say it anyway if we won. It is about principles, we want a professional league, but this is embarrassing,” said Ramovic.

Galaxy, like SuperSport United who were eliminated by a rampant Orlando Pirates side, will now turn their attention to preparing for the upcoming league campaign as Ramovic’s side will have about six weeks to fine-tune his team before the start of the season.

The Mpumalanga outfit will launch their campaign against a revamped Richards Bay on September 15.
