The shock move comes just weeks after he joined the club after signing a three-year deal.

Confirming the German’s departure a statement from the club read: “Sekhukhune United Football Club wishes to announce the resignation of its head coach Peter Hyballa with immediate effect.

“The coach has just submitted his letter of resignation, citing pressing matters of a personal nature.

“The club has accepted his letter and wishes him well in future endeavours. Meanwhile, Mcdonald Makhubedu will fill the position of head coach in an acting capacity until further notice.”

While it has not been confirmed it is widely reported that former coach Lehlohonolo Seema will be approached to fill the position he vacated at the end of last season.

Meanwhile Hyballa’s resignation makes him the third PSL coach this season to leave a club before the league has even started. He follows Dylan Kerr of Marumo Gallants and Richards Bay’s Vusumuzi Vilakazi in the fast-track exit queue.
