At the age of 35 and having recently left AmaZulu FC after an injury-plagued season, Maluleka is determined to continue his career in the Betway Premiership.

The Thembisa-born player is currently searching for a new club and believes he still has two more seasons of top-flight football left in him.

Maluleka has speculated that the reason for not receiving contract offers from PSL teams might be related to his salary expectations. However, he emphasised that his primary motivation is not financial but rather his passion for playing the game he loves.

Maluleka remains optimistic about finding a new team where he can contribute his experience and skill.

“I’m a baller, I’m still a baller, I love football, I’m passionate about it. I’m still club hunting and I believe something will come up,” Maluleka said on 947.

“My agent is still out there (looking for a club) trying to make sure we get the right deal. But I still have a lot in my legs, so, I’m not about to hang the boots just as yet.

“I have always said I love this game (football) so much. I think at this point and time money is the last thing on my mind.

“I’ve always been on the field and that’s where I want to be. So, I just want to play.”

The former Usuthu player shared that he doesn’t have a specific team that he would like to play for as he is in the late stages of his career and is even willing to consider playing in the second division if the opportunity arises.

“There is no particular team, I think at the moment like I said I just want to play, I want to be on the field and I’m very confident that something will come up I don’t have a specific team.

“And if it happened God does lead me there (second division) to go to the lower division so, be it. It means I’m supposed to be there.

“There is no particular team.”

The midfielder had a challenging previous season with the Durban-based team, struggling with injuries that limited his appearances to just 17 across all competitions. However, he has assured that he has fully recovered and injury-free, ready to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season.

“I’m fully recovered and that’s one of the first questions I get a lot, (being asked) if I’m okay.

“But I’m okay, I have been training, and I have been seeing my bio a lot more. He works specifically on those muscles, the specific muscles.

“So, I’m good to go now. And honestly speaking if I’m honest with myself definitely two seasons and then I will be ready to call it quits.

“But then I could decide when I get there ( age 37), if I get there and I’m still in good shape then why not (continue to play).”
