MUJALLAD is a smart grey colt who showed an impressive burst of speed before tiring late in a competitive last outing over a similar trip on the inside course. The imported son of Redoute’s Choice raced wide that day and clearly has much room for improvement. He could dictate terms in this small field with his top young jockey in the saddle and may take some beating.
Race 2: FOLK DANCE(2)
Jockey: Wayne AGRELLA – Trainer: Paul PETER
The unbeaten pairing of FOLK DANCE and AURELIA COTTA appear set to fight a titanic duel to the wire in this seven furlong juvenile contest. The former expectedly raised her game when she found more to beat a lively bunch despite an awkward barrier on the inside circuit four weeks ago. She will strip fitter and should enjoy this longer run-in.
Race 4: ILLEGAL(9)
Jockey: Gunter WROGEMANN – Trainer: Candice DAWSON
This is a competitive start to the Pick 6 but there was plenty to admire about the debut of ILLEGAL from the Candice Dawson yard. This bay filly went off at long-odds and was slow into stride but she ran on eye-catchingly for 4th, beaten just two lengths at the wire. She finished just over four lengths ahead of Jet Start (runs in race 3) that day and would have come on appreciably from the experience. She should be a lively candidate and will enjoy the likely blistering pace.

Race 6: YANKEE CAPTAIN(4)
The four-year-old YANKEE CAPTAIN produced a great last run behind the fast improving MAXIMIZER over this c & d despite a few issues in running. He is only 1kg better off with the latter for that neck defeat but that may still be enough to reverse the formline. His yard has sprung to life in the last week after a brief spell with very limited success.

Race 5: KITTY’S DESTINY(2)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Joe SOMA
This is another extremely competitive staying event but shrewd trainer Joey Soma’s charge KITTY’S DESTINY could be the subject of market support. The former KZN stayer is fondly remembered for his 4th in the Derby in that province but he has gradually warmed to life on the Highveld. He certainly caught the eye with a fair performance when running on late in a Grade 3 event over nine furlongs last month. This trip will suit the chestnut perfectly on his peak showing and the four-year isn’t too badly out at the weights on official ratings.
