TAKINGTHEPEACE is progressive and she should build on her promising debut behind fellow debutant LONDON SECRET. The inmate from the De Kock yard showed pace and stayed on for 3rd, beaten 2.55 lengths by the latter in that highly competitive c & d run. The pair would have come on appreciably from the experience but the top selection can make her 3kgs favourable weight reversal count.

WILD HORIZON opened up a different avenue for his wily old conditioner after an excellent display in his first effort over a marathon trip late last month. The chesnut gelding ran way above his mediocre merit rating as he pushed some classy & proven stayers hard before going down a head over this c & d. Of course he escaped without a penalty due to the technicality of racing at pinnacle level but is still well in at the weights today. He gets man of the moment Delpech in the saddle and should take a power of beating.

SERENE COUNTESS was probably pushed up in distance too soon in just her second outing and her top class conditioner has wasted no time in dropping the daughter of Count Dubois sharply in trip today. She produced an eye-catching debut over six furlongs in May and this extended sprint distance should suit her perfectly. Moreover, the long run-in of this standside course will be right up her alley and has heaps of improvement to come. The Tarry inmate can go close from her good draw.

The removal of blinkers proved to be a masterstroke for the five-year old bay gelding STARCRAFT PRINCE who finally recorded his second career win. He was heavily penalized five pounds though but still has more to offer and has no issues with this extra distance.
