An eight-race programme is scheduled for Sale on Tuesday. It is a very competitive card, but there is some nice value in a few races and money can be made. The best bet comes in Race 3 in the form of DOES IT who has produced two very good runs thus far. He meets the right field today and looks very hard to beat.

Race 1
will be the best guide in this race as more than half of the field are first-timers. ACACIA ROAD is the pick of the raced runners. The
daughter of More Than Ready produced a promising debut when finishing third
over this distance at Benalla, six weeks ago. She settled well back in the
field that day and chased solidly to the line. It must be noted that the form
of that race has been franked. With the natural improvement that is expected,
she should be the one they all have to beat. NIGHT OF DELIGHT is a
daughter of Night Of Thunder from the Robbie Griffiths stable. She has not had
a barrier trial coming into this race, but it is encouraging that top jockey
Noel Callow takes the ride. If not too green, she could be the first unraced
horse past the post.
Race 2
before being given a long 26-week break, during which time she would have
strengthened up. She should have no concerns with the drop in distance as she
has placed over the trip in the past. The daughter of Husson should come into
the race fit as she has had a barrier trial. Regular pilot Billy Egan does duty
and the pair should find themselves in the winner’s enclosure. CANDY PUZZLE showed good improvement in her first run after 26 weeks off the track.
She was running on well at the finish over the minimum trip on this course. The
manner in which she finished off her race that day suggests that she will enjoy
the extra distance on offer. She should strip much fitter this afternoon and
may be the one to throw out the biggest challenge to the top choice.
Race 3
finished third, just a half a length behind the winner over this distance on
debut and followed that up with a decent effort when finishing second over a
mile. Billy Egan does duty for the first time today and in this type of field,
the son of Pins should be very hard to beat. AXECAPITAL is an unraced
son of Savabeel with Michael Dee in the saddle. He produced a decent barrier
trial coming into this race and if not too green, he could be one of the leading
contenders for the placings. The betting market will be the best guide with
regards to his chances.
Race 4
FIORENA is the value bet on today’s programme. She was her
own worst enemy in her last start over twelve furlongs as she over-raced in the
early stages. The run that catches the eye is when she finished second over ten
furlongs on 10 March. She gets the services of Luke Nolen and if he is able to
switch her off early, she may be the one to cause the upset.
LAST DREAM showed good signs of a form return in her last start
over ten furlongs at Mornington. Kate Walters steps back into the saddle this
afternoon and if confirming her recent improvement, she should be right there
in the run down to the finishing post.
Race 5
HIGH DONE has good recent form to his name. He has a
good record this season having won once and finished second twice from four
starts. He is likely to race on the speed with minimal pressure and should be
hard to peg back in the closing stages. It is encouraging that Noel Callow steps
into the irons this afternoon.
ALPHAVILLE won his maiden over
1450m at Kyneton last time. He does take a step up in class today, but he is
lightly raced and looks to have plenty of scope about him. Ben Thompson is back
in the saddle today and the pair should be right there in the fight to the
finish.
Race 6
competitive contest and caution is advised. The narrow first selection is ATONE who needed his last start badly after returning from a 20-week break. He
produced two very good runs prior to the lay-off when finishing second and
third respectively. The son of Reset placed in his only attempt on this course.
He should strip a much fitter horse today and may be the one to side with here. SEAFIELD ROSE showed good signs of returning to best form over 1106m on this course
last time. He has a decent record this season having won once, finishing second
three times and third once from eight outings. He gets the services of a 2kg
claiming apprentice once again and should pose the biggest threat to the top
choice.
Race 7
over the minimum trip on this course last time. He was returning from a 14-week
break that day. His record when having his second run after a rest is good as
he has won twice and finished third once in four starts. Apprentice Matthew
Cartwright retains the ride and the pair should find themselves in the winner’s
enclosure here. CANELO’S last two starts over this distance have been
very good. Eight of his nine career victories have come over this trip. The son
of Statue Of Liberty is making his course debut this afternoon and if suited to
the track, he should be the one to throw out the biggest challenge to the top
choice.
