RACE 1
XIANG BAI QI was an impressive winner of his last start under Teetan. He hit the front at the 130m mark and the manner in which he finished off his race was encouraging. It is promising that Teetan has kept faith in the ride and the pair could make it quick back-to-back wins. DYNAMIC EAGLE is in search of hat-trick of wins. He meets a tougher field today but should be up to the task at hand. PAKISTAN FRIEND is a rapid pacesetter. He is much better than his below par last run and is capable of bouncing back to best form in this opening contest.
RACE 2
VALIANT ELEGANCE set the pace last time and stayed on well at the finish. He is well-drawn and doesn’t take on the strongest of Class 5 rivals. SUPREME PATROL won his penultimate start under Shinn and if repeating that effort, can pose a threat to the top selection. VITAL SPRING up made steady ground last time on the All Weather track. His prior form is attractive and has the potential to run into the money.
RACE 3
GREAT HARVEST ran on well in his last start despite getting cramped for room at the 250m mark. His last win came over this c&d and with Purton in the saddle, should make his presence felt. TIGERLAD followed up his recent win with a decent effort. He is drawn wide but has the credentials to pose a threat to the top selection. WONDER BRAHMA raced three-wide last time and still managed to finish runner-up. Moreira retains the ride and he can confirm his recent improvement.
RACE 4
MORE THAN ENOUGH won a nice race over this c&d last time. He raced three-wide on that occasion and with better luck in running can follow up on his recent win. BRIGHT KID has placed in his last two starts under Purton and is knocking on the door. LAND POWER is in form for Chan and followed up his recent win with a decent effort over this distance at Sha Tin. He won his penultimate run over shorter which is a slight concern but can run into the money.
RACE 5
SAVVY KINGMAN produced a fair last run despite not settling in the race. Moreira has kept faith in the ride and if switching off early, should take a power of beating. V CHEVALIERS was held up for a run between the 300-150m mark. He is well drawn and on best form, can make his presence felt. PURE LEGEND gets new kid on the block Bentley in the saddle and he will be eager to get in the winners enclosure. His recent effort at Sha Tin is enough to warrant selection in this contest.
RACE 6
MONSTER KAKA was narrowly beaten in his comeback effort at Sha Tin. He will strip a much fitter horse and if overcoming his wide draw, definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. FIRE BALL hit the front with a furlong to go last time and finished his race off positively. He steps up in class but should be up to the task at hand. FLAMING PASSION produced a decent last run and is still relatively unexposed. He is well-drawn and it won’t be long until he finds himself in the winner’s enclosure.
RACE 7
JOYFUL WIN was given a peach of a ride to win his last start. He raced three-wide on that occasion and also took a bump in the closing stages. With better luck in running, he can follow up on his recent victory. VICTORY IN HAND has found one better in his last three outings. He gets French ace Piccone in the saddle who may be able to coax a little extra out of him where it matters most. TRAVEL DATUK is a sort that likes to come from just off the pace. He is drawn best of all and will be mowing the frontrunners down in the dash to the wire.
RACE 8
HZ TOURBILLON made vast progress in his second outing. He hit the front at the 100m mark on that occasion and the manner in which he finished off his race suggests there is plenty more to come from this individual. CAPITAL STAR may have cut throats up front last time as he struggled to maintain a lead. He shoulders top weight but is well-drawn and can get back to winning ways. HERCULES was clear second best last time over this c&d. Chadwick sticks with the ride and can finish in the money once again.
RACE 9
EVER FORCE won impressively last time out despite having bled in his penultimate run. He has won both career starts on this course, is well drawn and from his neat draw should take a power of beating in the lucky last. GOODLUCK GOODLUCK wasn’t challenged last time out and absolutely cruised in under Leung. He is a decent pacesetter that may be difficult to peg back in the closing stages. AURORA PEGASUS overraced in his last start. If repeating his prior form, he should be able to finish in the money.
