India and Sri Lanka contest a day/night Test in Bengalaru from Saturday 12 March at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

India v Sri Lanka

India hold a 1-0 series lead in the two-match series and need a draw or a win to take the trophy.

India vs Sri Lanka | 12 – 16 March 2022 | M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore

To Win Match
India 1/12 | Draw 9/1 | Sri Lanka 16/1

India

India have a decent record in pink-ball cricket and after an emphatic first Test win are heavy favourites.

The hosts great strength is a pair of spinners who are incredibly handy with the bat in Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.

Virat Kohli continues his pursuit of Test hundred after a long drought, having hit 45 in his 100th match last time out.

India’s bowler made short work of Sri Lanka last time out and they will really fancy a crack at them with a pink ball.

Sri Lanka

Pathum Nissanka ending unbeaten on 61 after coming in at number three speaks to how Sri Lanka batted in the first Test.

There was little grit or resolve from the islanders who struggled to cope with a varied India attack.

With the ball in hand, Vishwa Fernando was wayward and veteran Suranga Lakmal struggled with overstepping while Lasith Embuldeniya was forced to get through a mountain of work.

Now that he cannot bowl Angelo Mathews place in the team is in question, considering he seems to be keeping younger players out of the team without delivering the goods himself.

Verdict: India 1/12

India should win the match, possibly inside three days again. I really don’t see any hope for a Sri Lankan side who looked totally out of their depth in the first Test.
