Race 3

CONSENSIO has finished second in his last two starts, the latest when 2.3L behind the winner over a mile, but he raced three wide approaching the home turn that day, before staying on well over the closing stages. From his handy draw two, he will be hoping to go one better here.

MIRROR ONE made good late progress when finishing fifth in his latest outing over 1500M, just under five lengths back from the winner and on that effort, he should enjoy the extra ground on offer today. From a wideish draw nine, he should be doing his best work late.

WINDABULL was some way out of his ground turning for home, but finished well to end up in fourth place last time out over ten furlongs, just under two and a half lengths off the victor. He gets draw six and if his jockey can have him handier, he rates as a big runner in this line-up.

Race 4

The day’s best bet, NISHIKORI showed solid improvement to finish third last time out over a mile at this track, 2.8L behind the winner, but he did come three wide into the home straight, costing himself valuable ground. He did however stay on well that day suggesting that he should appreciate the extra ground of today’s contest. He has cracked pole position and will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to aid his cause.

TRIANGULUM on the other hand is drawn the widest of them all in gate twelve, but he stayed on well when ending up in sixth spot last time out over seven furlongs, just over four and a half lengths adrift of the winner. He has his peak run since returning from a 27 week break and is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to pick off the frontrunners over the latter stages.

LEICA BITA FUN showed good improvement in his last two runs and although recorded as finishing nineth last time out over seven furlongs, he was just over three and a half lengths behind the winner. He had nothing go his way that day, having had to be steadied off the heels of other runners at both the 1000M and 800M marks, before taking a bump at the 200M pole, so that effort was commendable. From a kinder draw six, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 5

SNAZZ ‘N’ CHARM was a little disappointing when trying the poly track last time out, finishing seventh over seven furlongs, 4.3L behind the winner, but his form prior to that run was solid. He gets draw five and 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of this claiming apprentice and is take to be the value bet on the day’s card.

EMMA ROSA is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has consistent formlines to her name, having finished second and two thirds in her last three runs, the latest over six furlongs, 3.7L off the victor. She faces a wide draw ten and does return from a 24 week break, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing second in the first and winning the latest to showcase her well-being.

GUS LIGHTNING battled all the way down to the wire when beaten a short-head last time out over 1110M and the form of that race has stood up well with four runners out of that contest subsequently winning. The gelding jumps from gate six and should be right up there when they hit the line.

Race 6

DALTORO had his consistency rewarded with a neck victory last time out over 1115M at this venue, despite hanging in and being bumped at the top of the straight. He struck the front at the 200M mark and then held off the chasing pack in the dash down to the wire. From draw seven, he should turn in another honest performance today.

MONTEZ had finished second in his two runs prior to being disappointing in his latest outing over a mile, twenty-one and a half lengths adrift of the winner and was immediately rested for 19 weeks. He returns here after having had two barrier trials, winning the first and finishing fourth in the latest. From gate five, he should not be lightly dismissed.

AHEADOFHISTIME has finished second in his last two outings, the latest over 1115M at this track, just a neck behind the winner, notwithstanding being bumped at the start and coming four wide into the home straight. He faces a wide draw sixteen out of nineteen, but nevertheless should be included in all bets.
