LA FORZA had plenty followers on debut when beaten a length by Thunder Blink. He should come on nicely with that run under the belt and can go close to winning this opening contest. SANTORINI finished a length behind the top selection on debut. The pair meet on the same weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line.

JOYFUL CHAMPION won his last start on the All-Weather track. He remains in Class 5 and can give another good account of himself. The South African-bred GREEN LASER produced a fair last effort albeit on the All Weather. He comes in with a light weight and must be included in quartets. GOLDEN FAIRY is next in line.
07:30 – Race 3 | Class 4 | 1200m

HINOKAMI NAKAGURA has finished close-up behind the winner in his last three starts. He meets the right field and can notch up his first career win. SPANGLE FORTUNE finished a nose behind Super Joy last time and a repeat of that effort should see him finish in the money. MUST GO comes in at the top of the weights. He is in sound form and the only concern is the wide draw.

ILLUMINOUS finished 2.5 lengths behind EIGHTEEN CARAT in his last start. He is 2.5kgs better off at the weights and definitely represents decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. HOLY LAKE won his last start defeating Star Contact and he will be looking to make it quick back-to-back wins. SUNSTRIDER is next best.
08:30 – Race 5 | Class 4 | 1000m

RUBY SAILING finished 0.4 lengths behind YODA’S CHOICE last time. The pair meet on similar weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them in the run down to the line. CHEVAL VALIANT is a speedy type. He gets 3kgs taken off his back and can confirm his recent improvement.
09:00 – Race 6 | Class 4 | 1600m

FLYING MOJITO finished 0.8 lengths behind JOY OF SPRING last time. The pair meet on similar weight terms and there shouldn’t be too much separating them at the wire. STRONGEST BOY’S last start is best ignored. He has cracked a good draw and it will be no surprise to see him in the winner’s enclosure.
09:35 – Race 7 | Class 4 | 1400m

STORMING DRAGON produced an eye-catching debut behind Phoenix Light one-week ago. He would have gained from the experience and should love the extra furlong on offer. ARIEL finished 1.9 lengths behind SMILING COLLECTOR last time. He is 4kgs better of at the weights which should be enough to turn the tables.
10:05 – Race 8 | Group 3 | 2400m

FIVE G PATCH wasn’t disgraced in Group 1 company last time. He is yet to win over this distance and is a tentative first selection. KA YING GENERATION ran above his rating in the BMW Hong Kong Derby and could be one to cause an upset. RUSSIAN EMPEROR is the class-package in the race.
10:35 – Race 9 | Class 3 | 1200m

MONTA FRUTTA has good recent form on this course and can feature if getting across from the wide draw without using up too much energy. CAPITAL DELIGHT has produced two good runs on the All Weather and represents the in-form Fownes/Ho combination. VICTORY MOMENTS’ form lines behind Sing Dragon are appealing and he must also be included in all bets.
11:10 – Race 10 | Class 2 | 1200m

PACKING TREADMILL ran against stronger in a Group 2 last time. He has cracked pole and is capable of finding a form return in this type of field. KA YING RISING has an outstanding record from five starts. He comes in with a handy galloping weight and can give the top selection a good run for his money.
11:45 – Race 11 | Class 3 | 1400m

SUPERB KID won his last start easily and it is encouraging that Zac Purton has kept faith in the ride. He looks one of the better bets on the card. MAGNIFICENT NINE produced a good penultimate effort under Brenton Avdulla. He is nicely handicapped and should make his presence felt in the lucky last!
