Hollywoodbets is thrilled to announce that we’ll be sponsoring the race numbers in the 2022 Comrades Marathon taking place on Sunday 28 August.
The race numbers on the bibs are significant as they provide vital information about the contenders, thereby adding to Comrades followers’ exciting experience. The Purple Brand is also the official sponsor of the race’s halfway mark at Drummond and will become the first betting company to sponsor the race number, which is a valuable “piece of real estate” in the Comrades Marathon.
With a few days to go, this partnership extension takes place as more than 15 900 athletes from around the world are set to participate in the race. It will also be the first post-COVID-19 run, where the public will be able to see the participants in action along the 89.9km route.
The Hollywoodbets Athletics Club will also have a strong presence on the day. 445 runners have entered, which include some of their elite runners, such as Two-time Comrades Marathon gold medalist Prodigal Khumalo, Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon runner-up, Nkosikhona Mhlakwana, and 2018 Comrades winner, Ann Ashworth, who will be battling it out with the country’s, and the world’s best, ultra-distance runners.
