The highly anticipated 96th Comrades Marathon, set to take place on Sunday, 11 June, has garnered significant attention with a total of 17,920 qualified runners vying for participation.

Leading the pack in terms of entries is Gauteng, followed closely by KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape.
Here is a breakdown of the provincial entry statistics:
- Gauteng: 7,398 entrants
- KwaZulu-Natal: 3,491 entrants
- Western Cape: 1,517 entrants
- Eastern Cape: 1,141 entrants
- Mpumalanga: 772 entrants
- Limpopo: 662 entrants
- Free State: 505 entrants
- North West: 450 entrants
- Northern Cape: 154 entrants

Record Number of International Runners Set to Conquer 96th Comrades Marathon
CMA Race Director, Rowyn James, expresses his excitement for the upcoming 48th Down Run, stating, “We look forward to a fantastic running of this year’s race.
