Dewald Brevis Sends Message To Proteas Selectors With Another 100 In The CSA One Day Cup

Multiply Titans superstar Dewald Brevis was in fine form in the CSA One Day Cup once again, hitting a century against Six Gun Western Province at SuperSport Park in Centurion. This should put him back in the picture for the Proteas once the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India concludes.

It was not long before Dewald Brevis was back to his old explosive self. The Multiply Titans batter registered another big score in the CSA One Day Cup, hitting 116 runs off 118 deliveries against title favourites Six Gun Grill Western Province at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday.

In the previous match against the AET Tuskers, Brevis scored 94 runs more briskly. Just days before, he hit 100 runs of just 78 deliveries against the North West Dragons.

With Quinton de Kock calling it a day in One Day International cricket at the top of the Proteas batting order, this form was a timely reminder to the selectors that a more than capable replacement is waiting in the wings.

Unfortunately for the Titans, their hopes of reaching the final next weekend are all but over, with Brevis’ good touch coming rather late in the tournament. Had he fired a bit earlier in the competition, the team might have been better placed to book a place in the decider.
