In pursuit of a challenging target of 212 runs, the Super Kings stumbled and were dismissed for 142 in the 18th over of their innings.

Despite being put in to bat after losing the toss, the Super Giants got off to a steady start, reaching 95/4 by the 13th over. However, it was the explosive partnership between middle-order batsmen Heinrich Klaasen and Wiaan Mulder that stole the show.

The duo amassed an impressive 101-run stand off just 38 balls, with Klaasen smashing a blistering 74 off 30 deliveries, including seven sixes, before being caught by Doug Bracewell at long-off in the penultimate over.

Mulder, remaining unbeaten, contributed a vital 50 off 23 balls, steering the visiting team to a formidable total of 211/6.

The Super Kings’ bowlers, led by Nandre Burger (2/27) and Doug Bracewell (2/33), struggled to contain the onslaught from the Super Giants’ batting line-up, particularly in the latter stages of the innings.

In reply, the Super Kings found themselves struggling at 32/3 in the sixth over, but a resilient partnership between Reeza Hendricks and Moeen Ali kept their hopes alive with a 54-run stand for the fourth wicket.

However, their resistance was short-lived as Dwaine Pretorius struck crucial blows, dismissing both Moeen (30 off 26) and Hendricks (27 off 24) in quick succession.

With the tail exposed, the Super Kings faltered, losing their last five wickets for just 34 runs. Junior Dala starred with the ball, claiming an impressive 4/38, while Pretorius and Naveen-ul-Haq chipped in with two wickets each.

With this commanding victory, the Super Giants advanced to the final showdown against defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape in Cape Town on Saturday, while the Super Kings bid farewell to the competition after a valiant effort.
