Over 12 000 fans were on hand to watch the Standard Bank Proteas pull off a memorable five wicket win over Pakistan in the second Momentum ODI to square the five match series at Kingsmead Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

Under clear blue skies the Durban fans were treated to a game that ebbed and flowed as Pakistan number ten Hasan Ali scored a memorable 59 from 45 deliveries to help his side post 203 all out.

Local Durban boy Andile Phehlukwayo registered his career best bowling figures with four for 22 in nine overs.

In reply the Proteas were under pressure at 80 for five when Phehlukwayo joined Rassie van der Dussen in the middle.

The pair put on an unbeaten partnership of 127 with Van der Dussen ending 80 not out while Phehlukwayo registered his highest one day international score of his career, finishing 69 not out.

His performances with both the ball and the bat led to him being awarded the Player of the Match award.
