The only real concern for India through this series has been the form of Rishabh Pant, in the squad as a specialist batsman but with an eye on the long-term future of the wicketkeeping gloves in white ball cricket.
Pant will want to end the series on a high note to keep his name in the ring for the T20I format. The Delhi Daredevils star will be desperately keen to recapture the form which saw him light up the IPL earlier this year.
Leading the team in Virat Kohli’s absence, Rohit Sharma continues to be a pillar of strength in the shorter formats and blasted his way to a hundred in the second match to help India clinch the series. His form is an ominous sign for anyone who will be unfortunate enough to come up against this Indian side in next year’s World Cup.
India may opt to explore some alternative combinations in the final game of the West Indies visit. Shreyas Iyer is one such player who could crack the nod. The 23-year-old’s recent List A form has been nothing short of scintillating. Unleashing him against a battered West Indies outfit seems wouldn’t hurt at all.

The West Indies have played some good cricket on their tour of India but a poor start to the T20I series has threatened to sour the trip after a hard-fought One Day International series.
The tourists are without Evin Lewis or Chris Gayle at the top of the order and Kieron Pollard has misfired with both the bat and the ball making the absence of Andre Russell that much more noticeable.
The bowlers were as disappointing as the batsmen in the second T20I, after a solid enough display in a low-scoring opener in Kolkata. Young spinners Khary Pierre and Fabian Allen have been unable to match the India tweakers for impact and will need to find a way to turn things around.
It is expected to be hot and dry during the day in Chennai giving way to a warm evening. A full match should be enjoyed by the gathered crowds with no rain expected.
