Pakistan

A lower-scoring match last time out suited Pakistan but the margins between success and failure have been fine in this series where every match could have gone either way.

Mohammad Rizwan led the way with an innings that suggested what the correct pace is in Lahore but we might expect those scores to trend upwards in matches six and seven.

Aamer Jamal made an impression as he grabbed an opportunity to press for a place in the starting XI in the all-rounder role.

Pakistan were composed with the ball and put together a great performance to deny England in defence of a modest target.

England

Mark Wood was again spitting fire in match five, but England’s batting let them down in Lahore.

Losing wickets in the powerplay hamstrung the England effort, and they weren’t able to get ahead and lacked the composure they needed to get over the line in this type of game.

Alex Hales and Phil Salt both failed in their ongoing World Cup auditions but will get another crack at proving their cases.

Moeen Ali’s reserved nature doesn’t appear to be lending itself to inspirational leadership and he might need to step up his example to get the job done.

Verdict: Pakistan 92/100

Pakistan should now close this series out.
