2024 T20 World Cup Final
India v South Africa
Saturday 29 June | 16:30
Kensington Oval, Barbados

For India, it has been over a decade since they last lifted any World Cup trophy and they have endured several near misses and also been tournament favourites several times during that period.

South Africa have never before reached this stage of an ICC men’s event and are chasing their maiden World Cup win in any format.

The tournament culminates at the Kensington Oval in Barbados which has staged three matches in this tournament so far.

To Win Match
India 29/20 | Tie 25/1 | South Africa 57/100

India have the edge of having played in Barbados just nine days before the final after they beat Afghanistan at the venue during the Super Eight phase of the tournament.

It has fallen to skipper Rohit Sharma to lead India with the bat and he has done a fine job of laying the platform and even doing damage when the chance presents itself.

With the ball India have had plenty of heroes but few have stood out like Jasprit Bumrah through this tournament. Bumrah has been brilliantly backed up by Arshdeep Singh and Axar Patel.

Virat Kohli has misfired throughout the tournament but this seems like an occasion that has been scripted for the great man to do something incredible.

South Africa’s bowlers have dragged their team into the biggest match of their lives and they now need to back things up.

Kagiso Rabada hasn’t received full reward for bowling very well in this tournament but he will be a key man considering his experience. The likes of Anrich Nortje and Marco Jansen have come to the party with both performances and results.

The Proteas really need their batting to click after a tournament where they have needed to scrap and claw just to stay alive in the World Cup.

Quinton de Kock has been the best batter by far for the Proteas but the danger of the Proteas finishers is still something India cannot afford to discount. Heinrich Klaasen has the ability to tear any attack apart and take the game right away from the opposition.

Verdict: India 57/100

India have the edge in these kinds of big matches although both sides will be under monstrous pressure.
