Australia might feel aggrieved at India getting back into the series through a crap shoot of a shortened second T20I.

With the match cut to eight overs apiece the contest was arguably settled by the toss.

India

India fought back in the second T20I albeit in a shortened contest after being outgunned in the opener.

It’s difficult to guage where the team is at from that shortened match but it nonetheless sets up a decider in Hyderabad.

Rohit Sharma was at his bullying best for his crucial cameo but he needs to show that he can still do that over a prolonged period.

Jasprit Bumrah also helped tip the scales with another brilliant performance from one of the men in the discussion around the best fast bowlers in the world.

Australia

Australia have plenty of candidates for that fast bowling discussion themselves which often sees spinner Adam Zampa forgotten but he could hold the key to a series win for his team.

Another underrated player in terms of his contributions to this Australia team is Matthew Wade, who just keeps getting things done and played another key knock in match two, albeit in a losing effort.

Steve Smith looked like he might be burdened by the feeling that he is a liability to this T20 side.

Dual-international Tim David is one of many players pushing for a place in the T20 World Cup squad but every match he plays might be his last opportunity to make his case.

Verdict: Australia

Australia aren’t fancied for this but will fancy themselves and if this goes the distance they should get the win.
