After a stalemate in the first Test, Pakistan and Australia move from Rawalpindi to the National Stadium in Karachi.

Pakistan

Fans will be welcome back into the stadium for the contest and anticipation is high despite the way the first Test fizzled out.

Pakistan vs Australia | 12 – 16 March 2022 | The National Stadium, Karachi

To Win Match
Pakistan 14/10 | Draw 24/10 | Australia 18/10

Pakistan

Pakistan made Australia toil in the field in the first Test but some feel their declaration was ill-advised considering the flatness of the pitch.

It proved a frustrating exercise trying to remove the Australians last time out without strike bowler Hasan Ali and on an unhelpful surface.

Pakistan expects more of its spinners and they will have to step up if the hosts are to seize control of the series.

The batters got a good hit out at least which bodes well for their confidence going forward in the series.

Australia

Australia handled Rawalpindi as well as they could have been expected to and avoided giving away cheap wickets, but they will need to up their game in Karachi.

The tourists need their batters to convert their starts into big hundreds if they are to compete for victory in Asia.

Three batters made it to the 90s in Rawalpindi for Australia but missed out on three figures and big scores on a tame surface.

Karachi is expected to throw up a turning surface which could make life appreciably more difficult for Australia.

Verdict: Pakistan 14/10

The hosts will want to make amends for a flat display in Rawalpindi and should have the weapons to get a result.
