There will be three ODIs in the series with Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra serving as host cities for the matches.

It has been over 30 years since the West Indies last won an ODI at the MCG although Australia have won just one of their last four outings in the format at the showpiece stadium.

To Win Match
Australia 2/15 | Tie 25/1 | India 52/10

Jake Fraser McGurk looks set to debut for Australia with the 21-year-old batter having impressed in domestic white-ball cricket.

Australia could turn to all-rounder Cameron Green to fill the opening void left by David Warner with other options including Travis Head and Steve Smith.

Many of the frontline multi-format bowlers are rested for this series but Australia sport very deep pace stocks and call on experienced Khye Richardson, Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis.

Adam Zampa offers Australia their spin option and he could make good use of the MCG dimensions.

The West Indies rely heavily on all-rounders in this format having brought few specialist batters along.

They are missing some top performers who are away on franchise commitments, a situation which continues to plague the West Indies.

Captain Shai Hope stands out as both the form batter and the leader among the group as well and much will hinge on how he performs not just in this match but through the whole series.

Gudakesh Motie is a cunning left-arm spinner who bowls with enough accuracy to frequently pick up wickets while limiting run scoring and he will be a dangerman for the tourists.

Verdict: Australia 2/15

At home, Australia should be too strong for the West Indies in this format.
